The Aerospace Industry have always used Quality Standards to maintain high levels of safety and to prevent mistakes or failures of product, where the effects could be critical. Members of the Aerospace Industry wanted a single common management standard to be adopted throughout the world.

Based on the International Standard ISO9001, it provides enhanced requirements for use in the Aerospace, Defence, Space and Security Industries and supply chain.

The Standard can be applied as:

  • AS 9100 Quality Management System requirements for Design and/or manufacture of aerospace products
  • AS 9110 Quality Management System requirements for maintenance and repair operations
  • AS 9120 Quality Management System requirements for Stockists and distributors

Formal assessment of an organisation’s aerospace quality management system is carried out by an independent and accredited third-party IAQG certification body. If all the requirements are met, a certificate of conformity is issued. Regular surveillance visits are carried out, subsequently, to ensure that the standard is being maintained.

Accreditation of Certification Bodies (CB’s) in the UK is carried out by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) UKAS is the sole accreditor in the UK. Aerospace CB’s must also be accredited by IAQG.

We can help you set up an aerospace quality management system and get you ready for assessment and follow up with system audits and advice as required.
